I recently saw “Poseidon” there. The interior isn’t as spectacular, but they have these huge steps to get up to the theaters on the top level. This really bugged me because this didn’t seem to be handicap accessible. I couldn’t find an elevator anywhere!
A girl I work with, who lives in the neighborhood tells me someone from New York owns the theater and will not sell it. He apparently is insistent on keeping it a porn theater. I’m just not sure how he can make a profit from it, but apparently he is. The whole block is kinda run down. I think they need to fix up that entire block and try to clean the theater up.
They opened a theater next to the SuperWalmart by my house and closed within a year or two (this was the Lowe’s North Versailles Theater, there is a listing for it here on CT). There is a Destinta nearby here as well, which may have caused the Lowe’s to close. If there is another theater in that same vicinity, a new one won’t last unless it is bigger than any other in that area.
I was in Shadyside yesterday. Apparently the address matches the Williams Sonmoma store, but it appears to not look like a theater at all. But there is an art gallery (called the Four Winds) next door to WS resembles a movie theater a bit more (that address is 5512 Walnut St.)
Got this picture of the former theater today. I peeked in the window and the theater still looks like it is in godd condition. It was later used as a church, but is now vacant. There are theater seats still inside. If you look on the side of the building, the word “Parkway” was painted.
It needs some TLC, but can defenitely be reusable. I’m guessing the theater has been closed for about 5 years, since “Along Came a Spider” was released in 2001.
I hearrd a very, very nice rumor (and possibly very welcome rumor) about what will happen to the Warner. I was told that this may become a theater once again!!!!! :)

They probably should delete the Pothole Pictures thread, since from what I gather is only a promotional series that is held AT the Memorial Hall.
Bumping this up due to the Pothole Pictures post.
Very plain looking building, yet a funny (yet cool) name for a theater. Very neat!

“With the right mix of movies and events, it could become a great theater again.”
Along with the Denis, Cinema 4, King’s Court, New Granada, Parkway and the Eastland. :)
Is the buliding stil there?

Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I had the cash to reopen and renvate a theater.
How about the King’s Court and the New Granada in Pittsburgh? Both theaters have profiles on CT.
Here is a website that I found that have pictures of the inside of the Dattola.

The mall itself is now a Walmart
That’s funny. Everytime I tried to Google “Dennis Quad” I would get Mr. Quaid, lol.

I got this picture of the Emerald Room/Roxian today. I don’t think it looks much like a theater.

I know I’ve been having a hard time viewing theaters or posting (especially on weekends). It is extremely bad today.

Our local cheap seats made it! lol. Films are still $1.50 I believe.
That would be an interesting picture. I’d love to see it.
I like the pix alot. Thanks!
That is the most interesting name for a theater. Any pictures?
