Taken over by Canadian Multiscreen theatres Ltd. (which was owned by Empire Theatres on March 2nd, 1990. and folded into the Empire Theatres listings in 1994.
The Capitol theatre was taken over by Odeon theatres on September 11th, 1945 and Canadian Odeon theatres in 1977 and Empire Theatres in 1984.
Empire theatres closed it on November 14th, 1991 and it was restored and reopened as a performing arts center on September 8th, 1993.

Taken early 1975. The Twins reopened on July 3rd, 1975.
Closed April 24th, 1997, after everyone went to the Famous Players 8 and the Empire Dieppe 8 instead.
Also mark this as open for live performances as part of the Capitol theatre complex.
The Empress along with the Capitol theatre were badly damaged by fire on March 25-26th, 1926 and reopened on August 23rd, 1926.
