Cinema 1 is going reserved seating, losing half the capacity. The new capacity 187 seats, they probadly having reclyning seats. I don’t know if Cinema 2 and 3 will do the same.
The first feature with the new seats “Wild” on Friday December 12
After Intersteller is the last IMAX film in 70MM film.
The reason why most Regal Theatres that had Dolby Atmos elected to show Think Like A Man Too in that auditorium instead at Kaufman, Court Street. Which is sad that they showed that in RPX and the film is recorded only in Dolby Digital 5.1 It should of been showed in a regular auditorium
Saw Godzilla in Atmos there when my Godzilla IMAX show got cancelled due to mechanical problems. Miss the 70MM Imax, the current IMAX Digital is slightly bigger than baby IMAX.
Jersey Boys is playing at the Ziegfeld, but Bow Tie Cinemas didn’t installed Atmos. The best flagship theatre in the city needs the sound upgrade.
It would be nice they upgraded to Dolby Atmos, every major film is released in that format. Dolby is doing Atmos over 7.1 now for movies. This theatre needs Atmos
The theatre definately needs to be rebuild or similar to the Midway. The current seats are their from the late 70’s when I was going to grade school. The upstairs theatres are NOT ADA and even with Sony 4K, is their Dolby Digital Surround Sound. I saw no side speakers in 3 and 4 has REAL 3D. I would hate to pay entra for 3D and get no digital surround sound.
The project was in the talk to rebuild at the same time Sheepshead Bay got rebuilt. This was in the talk when United Artists was running the theatre.
Sadly, National Amusements is only going to put SONY 4K Digital in the Sunrise in Valley Stream and let the Green Acres run on a 1990 film projection, Dolby Stereo, NO DIGITAL SOUND
I can’t beleive all six screens has Sony Digital Projection and Dolby Digital. Screens 3 and 4 has been MONO for years. Regal wanted to rebuild the location. Is it true the upstairs screens are now better auditoriums
The premire house the LOEWS house aka Cinema 1 is no longer THX certified. Loews didn’t meet THX requiremnts to remain THX. It’s sad that very few locations in NYC has THX. The only location in New York City is the AMC Bay Plaza Cinema #1.
Loews Village VII, Orpheum, Lincoln Square and Regals Union Square lost their THX certification.
The theatre is still open as a sevenplex. The old theatre was torn down and rebult. AMC operates the theatre which Loews made a sevenplex. Theatres 1-3 are on street level and 4 thur 7 are on the basement. The best screen is Theatre 7. Loews did a bad job with 1 thru 6 because it has walkway going directly down the center aisle.
The theatre is down hill, you have to go through metal detectors and the only good screens are 1, 8, 9 and 10. The others the screens are small and long and noarrow 300 seats houses.
Cinema 2 has 97 seats and Cinema 3 has 48 seats

the movie theatre is closed as of April 21 2014
What kind of renation did the do, did they put seats in like Fresh Meadows?
The screens are small and no 3D. They close off the balcony.
The theatre still under neglect from National Amusements, the SONY 4K Digital is coming to the Sunrise Cinemas next door, not the Green Acres.

National Amusements didn’t do any upgrading on the theatre. They don’t have cupholders. The Fantasy has the same type seats with cupholders.
None of the houses have don’t have Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Sound.
