“ROCKY HORROR” two main theatres; here and Regency Mall, no one else wanted it. Charles was so proud of this painting. I wish it would have played in 70mm,“ENCOUNTERS” i am sure was 35mm.I had crush on Laurie, but I was a lowly Doorman at the Time.As mentioned SOMEWHERE above, first time the guys wore Dresses. We had to wear Cheerleading Outfits from Westside High School. While all the Girls wore the Football gear,As I mention on Regency Mall, theatres just don’t do this.John Mackey has a pic of me in a cheerleaders outfit by the Ticket Chopper,Thankfully, It is in his Attic marked in a box THeatre Pictures. Keep them there ,JOHN.LOL.
Yes, when Sherry came out I thought the Vice Squad might show up.Wow. Anne sang outside on her guitar in the lobby.Theatres just don’t do thing like this anymore.Russell, The black guy with Laura and Mike wasn’t his name Clarance.Rochelle couldn’t remember.I know he worked there awhile. Thanks Nick. I won’t bother you for awhile.Dawn6770 when I was I kid we played in the area the mall is in,called it the Big Gully.I shot a Super 8 “Dirty Harry” movie there in the sandpits looked like a big Desert in my movie.I don’t think you would Ghosts in there, but you might find a Homeless person in there, from what I hear it is easy to slip in the Old Mall.
Yes,that is the outside Cinemas.I worked inside the mall.In fact, they were planning the five plex when I quit.Tisloews.at the time I didn’t think anyone cared about movie theatres but me.LOL.We were heading to Jacksonville for the FLA/GA Game. Thanks Nick.Drop me a letter one day.Or call.
the box office was blue,I went back a few years ago and trees had covered everything. Thanks Nick. I was getting ready to give you a call.Hope everything is okay,Buddy.I sent you years ago, pictures inside the Booth with the projectors torn apart.
I was Wrong on the date,it was June 22 1997.Bob, the Article in the Charlotte Observer said the Drive-in was in Rowan County.N.C.Naturally,it seems on every theatre I put on, the subject never has a street address. The article did have two pictures,One with the owner standing in front of the screen and inside the snack bar.A little 16mm operation like this I bet did not last long, but it was a dream.
