I also saw ALan Throw a drunk out one night.Glad you like the pictures, since Nick seems to be tied up in Tampa I would glad to send pictures your way,I found one on the EXCHANGE I took it way before it opened,Workers are working on the Concession.there should be pictures of Regency already on the Regency Mall site.I know Nick put one or two on,Heck, I even have one of Dray from the Newspaper Article they Did on Him.Loved his Quote:“MOVIES HAVE TOO MUCH CUSSING IN THEM TODAY.” Yep,Good old Chuck,Bad language sure did Offend him.LOl.LOl.There is a whole Site just on GENERAL CINEMA,the whole history, heck I was reading again the other night.Glad You liked the pictures, wish we would have taken More.Of Course,Barry is suppose to have quite a few pics!!!
Adult Film policy, wish you could go into more details,I worked for ABC THEATRES,{Southeast] and we always tried to stay clear of adult movies,I guess you mean X rated.that sure doesn’t sound like the ABC THEATRES i worked for until Plitt took over.
Thanks sal, a lot of theatres here in the Southeast{USA}tended to sell Air Condition as much as the Movie playing. If you look at old ads from the 40’s to 50’s they let you know its “COOL INSIDE”.
I wish GCC was still with us,heck, I might have even drove over and took a Chief of Staff position part time. But they are gone and heck you can’t go back anyways, right Tisloews.
I don’t know.Everyone in the Arts would love to have the Miller going, but The Imperial is across the street. It is a tad smaller about 800 seats.we had more when it played movies.A new roof was put on the Miller.FRIENDS OF THE MILLER,which is on CT could probably answer alot of Questions. At least Augusta saved the MODJESKA,IMPERIAL and MILLER Theatres.
You know movie534,all the Union projectionists i worked with at ABC/PLITT and GCC only two guys actually enjoyed movies that ran the Booth, the other guys were always working on something on the make table or reading.I was an Assistant Mgr,and not an operator.
Enjoyed the story on “10”.We had to watch teenage boys slipping in on it in the twin I worked, which was pretty easy since the screens were apart.I don’t really remember that much nudity if any in the movie. Thanks Irv.I did sneak into to see “THE GROOVE TUBE” when i was underage,so i know the thrill.
russell, if you can put the pictures on CT I am sending that would great.I have in friend in Tampa that has been putting them on but I haven’t heard from Nick in awhile.I Know Tisloews would love to see them, plus everyone else on Ct.Tis, you have great day Too,wish Nick would get back on,Robin got on last night for a brief time at REGENCY EXCHANGE.
She was a manager for Plitt theatres, she put alot of the pictures on for me. I was fired about the time she was hired at National Hills so she had heard of Me.Go to her Homepage she worked a few theatres in Atlanta. Her family were theatre people so she grew up in it.
Still nothing.in a not so nice part of town.

From what I saw at Regal 20 I visited, this IMAX I saw did not impress me.looks like the size movie screens use to be and nothing more.
Some really good stories on this theatre.thanks for posting them.
