Mike, I know UA picked up some of Litchfield’s screens in the Carolinas, and perhaps the Atlanta area and Florida. UA has never operated in the Nashville/Middle Tennesse area. There were three locations that Litchfield built, starting with Courtyard in 1988. Indian Lake 10 in Hendersonville TN, and Stones River 10 in Murfreesboro TN were the next locations. I’m unsure if Regal took Stones River or not, but they did take Courtyard and Indian Lake… their entry into the market.

Had a meeting out in Hermitage this week, so decided to drive by this theatre I helped open. Still sitting there. Wish I had the funds to whip this place back into shape, retrofit. Eight screens, and the closest theatre is 20-30 minutes away. People would come. There definitely needs to be some maintenance to the exterior. I’m sure the projection equipment were removed, who knows?

Looks like this location reopened as Full Moon Cineplex on September 23, 2016 according to their “Us” page, screening horror and cult classics while serving food and beverage.

Apparently only one or two of the eight auditoriums are now used for screening films while some of the others are occupied by Lone Wolf Tattoo parlor and seasonally by a haunted house attraction called Slaughterhouse.

Does it only open when there is a full moon?

According to their website, the Courtyard closed in 2001 and remained empty until 2014 when it was purchased by Ben and Stacy Dixon and Full Moon, Inc.. After extensive renovations it reopened as the Full Moon on September 23, 2016 with six of the theaters serving as Slaughterhouse, Nashville’s longest running seasonal haunted attraction. A seventh auditorium is now The Lone Wolf tattoo parlor. The remaining auditorium has half regular theatre seats and half dinner tables and booths. Currently, movies are only shown on Fridays and Saturdays.

David, maybe it should be an adult venue with a name like that.

But, seriously, uploaded a picture with signage as the Courtyard. Since The Lone Wolf banner is also on the building this was presumably taken after the Full Moon became operational since their site said the tattoo parlor only opened after they had.

I worked at Courtyard for a few months in 2000 before I was transferred to the brand new Opry Mills 20. I got to work in the projection booth. I’m glad I got to experience that in my lifetime. I learned so much about how movies worked before they went digital.
