It was known as the Starplex Cinemas - Salina 10 when AMC acquired Starplex Cinemas in 2015, causing it to be renamed to the AMC Salina 10. It was rebranded as the AMC Classic Salina 10 in 2017 as the company began to rebrand its older movie theaters with the “Classic” designation.
It temporarily closed after the mall suffered storm damage in late April 2026. Subsequent news reports mention that AMC does intend to reopen the theater.
The last time we received showtimes for this theater was in late February 2025. The marquee as seen in a March 2026 Google Street View capture was for movies that were playing in February, so I’m pretty confident that it closed in the February or March 2025 timeframe.
The Grand Illusion left its location at 1403 NE 50th Street on January 31, 2025.
As of April 2026, it still has not found a permanent new home, but it is holding screenings at other venues. We have a new entry for the yet-to-be-relocated operation at:
