According to our records, the theater was originally known as the Dickinson Mall Cinema 8 - Pittsburg Theatre (Dickinson Theatres). Showplex Cinemas bought the movie theater in 2010 and it was renamed to the Mall 8 Pittsburg.
Starplex Cinemas acquired Showplex Cinemas in 2013, and it became the Starplex Cinemas Mall Cinema 8. and later became the Starplex Cinemas - Pittsburgh 8.
It changed to AMC Pittsburg 8 after AMC acquired Starplex Cinemas in 2015. It was rebranded to AMC Classic Pittsburg 8 in April 2017.
