The last time I saw a movie there was The Cable Guy in 1996 .

My family and I saw the movie Saturday Night Fever there back in 1977. I remember inside the auditorium there is area where the rest rooms are located.

I saw E T there in the summer of 1982 , also the rest room was located on the second floor of the theatre. Also back in 1995 they split one of the larger screen to give the theatre five screens as a dollar cinema before the theatre closed down in 2000 or 2001.

This photo is a rough stretched idea of what Eastlake Cinema 8 looked like back when it opened in December 15,1984 originally was a Gulf States Theatre until August 1 , 1986 when United Artists Theatres chain took over th operation until The Grand Thtre opened both this theatre and the Plaza Cinema 4 closed down It was a nice theatre back in the day up until they decided to close the thetre down the first movie my family and I saw there was the re release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Our first movie was a re release of Snow White back in 1985 about 5 months after the theatre opened it was a nice theatre back in the 1980’s it across the freeway from Lake Forest Plaza near Read Blvd. It was one of the original three movie theatres that opened in New Orleans East.

Back then the theatre had two screens then in the later years by the 1980’s the theatre ended up with four screens.

It closed in 1990 a later they demolished the cinema to make room for the mall’s expansion.

Originally it was suppose to bigger with five towers and a Embassy Suites Hotel there back in 1986 however 30 years I when there to see both Beetlejuice and Poltergeist III respectively. It was a nice theatre back then .

It open original as a two screen cinema under WRNO Theatres as a dollar cinema around the 1990’s the theatre added four addition screens to become 6 screen Cineplex then finally 7 by the 2000’s under Silver Cinemas inc that’s when it also became Hollywood Cinema 7 before Acadiana Cinemas took it over.

Update the theatre is owned by Acadian Theatres now open as a five screen stadium seating theatre.

By the mid 1990’s this theatre and the other two Joy’s theatres were owned by Movies Inc. Theatres later Silver Cinemas along with the Plazas Cinema 5 formerly 4 , La Place twin later expanded to seven screens like Chalmette Cinema originally had nine screens today it had six screens with stadium seating.

I remember seeing plenty of movies at this theatre I also remember the women’s restroom is located upstairs and two sets of men’s restrooms were downstairs. One side of the theatre had two screens while the other side had lengthy hallway connecting four other screens.

Based on this ad it’s actually 3 screen theatre and later a fourth screen opened later on the following year and they had a Taco Tico next door.

Actually there were two Lakeside Theatres the other is across the street from the mall owned Cobb Theatres each screen housed in four different buildings while the General Cinema version was in between Winn Dixie now demolished and the JCPenney parking garage Cinemas 1-3 which was built first while other two screens 4&5 building came later around 1970’s in 1986 my brother , mother , and I saw Howard the duck in the first building a couple of weeks later in the other building we saw the animated Transformers the Movie .serval other movies afterwards and I myself used to go there on Mondays when I worked a split shift at Red Lobster from 1998-2000 a saw multiple movies there two theatres closed the one by the mall along with the Winn Dixie were demolished to add more space for the mall the other theatre and the car dealership next door was also demolished to make way for Whole Foods Market then the AMC Palace Theatre 12 screen stadium seating theatre on top of the food court in 2002.
