A newspaper report I found says this theatre closed in 1952, so it was not completely destroyed in the fire and continued to operate afterward.
(Closure March 17, 1952.)
Other theatres in McDonald shown on the 1924 Sanborn Map include “Lincoln Hall,” at about 128 E. Lincoln Ave., and “Lafayette Hall,” at approx. 108 W. Barr St. (Both listed as showing movies.) The unnamed movie house at 104-106 E. Lincoln Ave. is likely this theatre, so it was standing by June of 1924.
I found a program from a “Hotpoint Freedom Fair: Electronic Cookery Demonstration” that was held in the Capitol Theater. It’s undated, but probably early 1950s. May 6, at 10:00 am!
The Sanborn map for 1913 shows “motion pictures” being shown in a frame building on 2nd Street, slightly down from Clay Street, address is 441 2nd Street, which doesn’t exist today. Not near Lafayette Street at all though, so I’m assuming it was yet another separate theatre.
A 1920s “History of Cameron, Marshall County, WV” lists an “Alamo Theatre” on Main St. and says it is the only theatre in the city at that time.
Quote:
THEATRE-The Almo Theatre was opened July 1, 1923, in the Loper and Leach building, between Main and Railroad Streets. At present this is the only theatre in the city. Although there is no competition, Mr. C. E. Kuhn, the proprietor, caters only to high class productions such as the First National, Metro, and Producers Companies pictures.

I got some cinema letters too. I’d love to buy a speaker off of you if you’re interested in selling one.

It is being auctioned off today (Mar 21, 2023.)
Building also originally had bowling alleys. :)

Are we sure this isn’t the same theatre as Cinema21? The auction house is in Cinema21.

I visited this weekend. It is currently an antique shop / thrift store.

I looked at the fire insurance maps, and it was not there in 1913 or prior to that. The 1925 map isn’t online.
