The Family Theater opened as the Perry Theater in 1912. At some point the name was changed to the Family Theater. The Family Theater was closed in May 1985. Click the link below for a photo of the Family Theater.

Regarding The Family Theater in Hazard, Ky: Someone has posted it “was still open at least into the 1970’s.” Replace that with the actual closing date. The last movie ever shown at the Family Theater in Hazard, Ky was Witness" with Harrison Ford. The Family Closed in May of 1985.
