This theater has been known for decades as the Disney movie headquarters. It is closed on Sundays and often used for church functions. It was appearently owned by the predominate local demonination, before being spun off into a foundation situation. This organization has had many ups and downs, but tries to serve its community of good families. The style of the bldg could be called art deco, but barely. The main room was kind of plain when I was last inside.

The interior of the large theater(there are two screens there) was recently completely remodeled and is now a very attractive room. This is the largest non-Imax type movie screen in Utah County. The large theater is equipped for 70mm presentations. A Century JJ 35/70mm projector and USL processor handle the 70mm stuff while a Sony DFP-3000 handle 35mm analog and digital playback. a 4kw Christie lamphouse provides adaquate light levels on the huge screen.

The smaller theater which serves dual purpose live and movie is equipped with a Simplex X-L projector and is equipped for Dolby Digital playback.

The September 3, 1950 issue of Boxoffice had a brief item noting that the publicly-owned Scera Theatre in Orem, Utah, had recently reopened following an extensive remodeling for its ninth anniversary. Improvements included plush carpeting, chandeliers, and a display of tropical plants. Profits from the theater, which was run by a nine-member board elected by the community, with three members elected to three-year terms each year, were used to finance public events and the development of public recreational facilities.
