Previous Names: Timpanogos Cinemotor Drive-In
Nearby Theaters
Opened as the Timpanogos Cinemotor Drive-In on August 25, 1950 with Errol Flynn in “Montana” & Lilly Palmer in “My Friend Tisa”. Car capacity was listed at 500. It was operated by V.A. Gilhool. By 1964 it was renamed the Timp Drive-In.
The drive-in closed in 1981 and was demolished in June 1993 for housing units.

Named for Mount Timpanogos which got it’s name from the Timpanogots Ute Tribe.
From 1953 to at least ~1967? had the name Timpanogos Cinemotor Drive-In.
From ~1969? it was called the Timp Drive-In.
In 1993 the Ticket Booth and Projection/Concession Building were still standing.

Why the name Timpanogos?
Proximity to Mount Timpanogos, often referred to as Timp.
Yesterday’s Provo Daily Herald wrote that the Timp was demolished in June 1993.
