I worked a shift as an usher back in 1979, they where showing “Moonraker” in thearter 1 and I am not sure what was showing in theather 2, I worked at the Roth Quince Orchard theather from the winter of 1979 to the summer of 1980
This theather stayed open until the early 1990’s, it even stayed open when the Lakefroset 5 open across the road in the 80’s. When
the Rio 8 near Shady Grove road open it force both Lakefroset and Montgomery theaters to close.
Montgomery was 1st to close with Lakefrost closing later in the mid 90’s
The theater opened on 12/14/66. Its opening attraction was “How to Steal a Million”.
Roth’s Montgomery #2 opened on 6/24/70. Its first attraction was OLIVER.
There was the Gaither theater located on Rt.355 near the railroad . A small theater with maybe 200 seats. It opened as the Lryic. It burned down in the 70s.
Correct the date of the death of the theater as the 90s. A picture is on google. Gaither theater Gaithersburg Md.
