The Avenue Theatre opened on October 7, 1926 with George O'Brien in “3 Bad Men”. Seating was listed at 800. It was operated by Goldberg Theatres from 1961 until the Cooper Foundation took it over and they closed it on January 24, 1959 with Gary Cooper in “Garden of Evil” & “All American”. It has since been demolished.
