- Apr 9, 2007 — State Theatre reopens as second-run movie house
Built in 1931 as the 950-seat Kiva Theatre. Later renamed State Theatre, it was closed and undergoing renovation/restoration in 2007.
It has since reopened as the Bourbon Theatre, presenting concerts and live performances. It is equipped to play video projections in HD, Blu Ray, DVD and film in 35mm format on a 35 feet wide screen.
There is now a standing capacity for 637, and a seating capacity for 300.

The State Theater has reopened as a combination movie house/bar/limited menu restaurant. Seating has been reduced from the original 950 to about 250.

Cool picture from 1983!! Only a year after I was born! I remember this place as “Studio 14” dance club about 10 years ago. That place was a blast!!!
