The Empress along with the Capitol theatre were badly damaged by fire on March 25-26th, 1926 and reopened on August 23rd, 1926.

Opened on August 5th, 1911 and became part of the Odeon theatre chain in 1945 and closed or placed its last ad as a cinema on January 26th, 1961. It’s now part of the Capitol theatre complex. Web: https://capitol.nb.ca/en/the-theatre/spaces-and-rentals/empress-theatre
