Does anyone know if this the theatre I refer to as the Pape, just east of Pape on the north side of Danforth?
You may be thinking of the Odeon Danforth (also known at one time as the Rex) which is listed at 635 Danforth, very close to Pape. The Pape was at 336 Pape.
The theatre on the north side of Danforth, just east of Pape was this one, the Palace. An office building now occupies the site.
A real shame this theatre was lost. I was in it only twice after it had been triplexed, but still found the lobby and cinema 1 quite lovely. Very reminiscent of the main floor of the Runnymede which is now a quite successful Chapters bookstore. I have always thought in this neighbourhood in Greektown, it would have made a great banquet hall/event theatre which would have kept the ambiance of the theatre. Another lost treasure as far as I’m concerned.

Wish there were photos of the theater from the 1980s, prior to its closing in 1987. I went to see a few movies there during its final couple of years of existence such as Rocky IV, Poltergeist II, and Police Academy 3.
