The Saenger Theater was opened March 26, 1911. In the early-1940’s the Saenger Theatre was operated by Paramount-Richards, Inc. On March 24, 1967 it was renamed Capri Theater. It was converted into a nightclub.
On October 5 & 6, 2012, it was in cinema use once more when it became one of the venues for the LA Film Prize Film Festival.

The Capri was formerly called the Saenger. It was a first-run downtown movie house. It went through several renovations over the course of its history. I believe it was a nightclub for awhile after it ceased showing movies.
