Opened on August 7, 1946 with Yvonne De Carlo in “Frontier Gal”. The Beckley Open Air Theatre parked 350 cars and was owned by Clemens and Chandler. It was still open in 1966. On April 12, 1968 it was renamed Raleigh Drive-In and was still open in the late-1970’s, but had closed by the 1980’s.
A trailer park now sits on the site.

Thanks Ken.
In 1964 in Boxoffice it was annouced that this drive-in was having GOLDEN HOT-SHOT car heaters installed, from Eprad Theatre Supply.
Now White Pines Housing. Approx. location for this drive-in was Dixieland and Cessna.
Wrong, 50sSNIPES, the Beckley Open Air Drive-In opened on August 7th, 1946. Grand opening ad posted.
The site is not a Walmart, it’s a trailer park. The original drive-in entrance was at 198 Dixieland Rd, Beckley, WV 25801.
A closer address is 448 Stanaford Rd, Beckley, WV.
It’s not quite perfect, just a few feet south of the entrance. But this address is really close. The entrance is now Dixieland Road and there is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
