The 7-screen Odeon opened on 4th December 1997. Seating capacities in the screens range from 364, down to 112.
In early 2008, work began to construct a new 8-screen Odeon on another site (Eagles Meadow) in the town. The new Odeon replaced this 7-screen cinema which closed on 12th March 2009.

Projection is provided by seven cinemeccanica projectors housed in a long corridor. Non- rewind systems are in use for all the screens. Chief projectionist is Peter Davies, who started his career at the ABC, Chester in 1962.
