The Downtown Theatre was opened by 20th Century Theatres Corp. on October 9, 1948 with the World Premiere of Hedy Lamarr & Robert Cummings in “Let’s Live a Little” with Robert Cummings appearing ‘In Person’. Seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels. It was closed in 1972. The Dundas Square building now occupies the site.
