Not sure this is demolished. Google Maps and Bing Maps both show it still standing at 111 College Ave, unless it has very recently been demolished.
Yes, the building was demolished to expand the bank next door’s parking lot.
This opened on February 18th, 1977. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
It was owned by Dipson theatres and leased to CinemaNational-USA Cinemas-Loew’s-Sony-Loews Cineplex until 1999 and closed as a Dipson theatre in 2002.
I remember you could only use the parking lot by the theater nights & weekends, because it was actually the bank’s parking lot. (Funny not funny the 3-plex became part of the parking lot.) Saw a lot of movies here: THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS, ZELIG, GHOSTBUSTERS, PURPLE RAIN, NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN, ANNIE, EXPOSED, THIS IS SPINAL TAP… .
The actual closing date is September 18, 2002. The theater closed due to parking problems associated with the nearby Coach USA Center.
