Appears to have closed after the March 15, 1985 double feature of Julia Parton in “Pleasure Zone” and Sharon Thorpe in “Overnight Sensation.”
and reopened by new owners in 1980 who showed adult movies until its listings ended (and presumed closed) in 1985.

A comment by architect George A. Eheling in the September 22, 1948 issue of The Exhibitor says that he designed the Lee Theatre in Roanoke. It’s likely that Eubank & Caldwell acted as supervising architects for Eheling, whose office was in Cleveland, Ohio.
Also, note the correct address and current use for the Lee’s building in my previous comment.
The correct address of the Lee Theatre is 3162 Williamson Road, at the southeast corner of Haffen Street. The building was not demolished, but converted for offices on the ground floor with apartments on a new second floor.
This one opened on October 3, 1941 with Bette Davis in “The Little Foxes”.
I mentioned this theater on another Roanoke listing years ago.The building still looks good, but was LONG ago converted to office space.Doesn’t really look like a theater, per se,unlike the Salem Theater. The one movie I remeber seeing there was the semi-grim Swedish Elvira Madigan.
