Located in Cragg’s Row, off Moor Lane, Bennett’s Electric Theatre opened in late-1910. In around 1932, Bennett’s Electric Theatre had been equipped with a Gramo-Radio sound system.

In around 1937, it was re-named Dominion Cinema, operating under the new management of Victor Bell Cinemas Ltd. In around 1953, new owners re-named it Rex Cinema, and it had a 25 feet wide proscenium. The Rex Cinema had closed by 1961. The building was converted into offices as part of the North West Electricity Board complex.
