- Oct 30, 2009 — Cinema 8 to open in Canby
The Canby Cinema 8 opened on October 30, 2009 and is operated by Portland based Cinemagic Theatres. All screens have stadium seating and high back rocker chairs. Seating capacities in the screens range from 210 down to 49. The 210-seat Screen 8 is a digital cinema with 3D capabilities, and a 39 feet wide screen. Screen 5, with its 91 seats is also digital equipped.
Located in downtown Canby, it has a 150-car capacity parking lot.

October 30th, 2009 grand opening ad has been uploaded in the photo section for this cinema.
The Canby Cinema 8 was designed by Seattle architectural firm The Design Collective, headed by James R. Blissett. Five photos can be seen in the Portfolio section of the firm’s web site.
