Located in the Westmount district to the southwest of Montreal city centre. Opened on May 30, 1947 with seating provided on a stadium plan, with a raised section at the rear. This theatre showed mainly British films from its opening until the 1960’s.
Owned by United Theatres (Famous Players), the Avenue Theatre was closed and demolished to make way for a supermarket in 1983.

May 30th, 1947 grand opening ad in the photo section. It had shown many British movies.
