The Market Street Drive-In opened at 7:45 p.m. on August 26, 1948. The premier feature was “Relentless” with Robert Young and Marguerite Chapman. The Market Street advertised ‘room for 670 cars, loud speaker for each car’. In 1972 it was taken over by McLendon Theatres. It was closed in the early-1980’s.
An Anheuser-Busch beer distribution center now stands on the Market Street site.
