Opened in 1936, the Dixie Theatre was listed as seating 550. It was half a block from the Joy Theatre. The Dixie Theatre was operated by Stewart & Everett Theatres.
The Dixie Theatre was still open in 1958. The building is still standing. Any further information on this theatre would be appreciated.

If check read movie-theatre.org it means that it opened around 1940 and around 1955. May had been opened a few years before and after. Someone in the area will have to check the movie listings on microfilm year by year.
The Dixie Theatre opened in 1936 and was still listed as open in 1958.
