Originally The West Mall 7 Is Planned In Construction Sometime In August Of 1987. But Yes It Did Open On June 24th, 1988.

The original opened November 22, 1968 as an ABC theater. It was a single screen and went twin in the 1970s. In 1988 it moved to another part of the mall big enough to accommodate the seven theaters built there.
The original West Mall theatre was located elsewhere in the mall. The current seven screens is an entirely different theatre than the original single.
