The West Mall 7 Theatres replaced the West Mall 1 & 2 which was in another part of Western Mall. It opened on June 24, 1988 and was seven screens. It opened under the Plitt banner and later became part of the Midcontinent Theatres, then Carmike Cinemas took over in 1995.
In 2001 it became an independent. It operates as a second run discount house.

The original West Mall theatre was located elsewhere in the mall. The current seven screens is an entirely different theatre than the original single.
The original opened November 22, 1968 as an ABC theater. It was a single screen and went twin in the 1970s. In 1988 it moved to another part of the mall big enough to accommodate the seven theaters built there.
