The West Mall Cinema was a single screen theatre which opened November 22, 1968 with Natalie Wood in “West Side Story” and was operated by ABC North Central Theatres. In November 1984 it was made into a triple screen theatre.
It was closed on June 23, 1988 when the West Mall 7 opened at another location in the Western Mall.

November 21st, 1968 grand opening ad in the photo section
the original single screen house was divided in 1984 making it a 3 screen complex.
The West Mall Cinema opened its doors on November 22, 1968 with “West Side Story”, and was tripled in November 1984.
Last operated by Plitt, the West Mall 3 closed on June 23, 1988 when the West Mall 7 opened the following day.
