Renton Village 8 Cinemas

The Renton Village 8 Cinemas was built to replace the Renton Village 3 Cinemas in grand General Cinema style. Hard to believe in 1984 General Cinemas Corp. was a major chain. The triple was built in 1968 and it was time for a new theatre for the growing population.

Opened on November 17, 1989, the Renton Village 8 Cinemas could show 70mm, and LucasFilm THX formats. The 8-plex had two computerized box-offices and plush chairs. General Cinema Corp. was also in 1984 working to remodel their cinemas in Everett Mall and the Overlake Theatre in the area.

The Renton Village 8 Cinemas were closed in 2009. It was demolished in 2022.
