Named after the route which it bordered (Route 9W By-Pass at Saugerties Road). The 9W Drive-In was opened on May 30, 1949 with Joel McCrea in “South of St. Louis”. It was operated by the Walter Reade Theatres chain. It had a capacity for 700 cars. Facilities included a picnic area, an adult playground and a children’s playground, plus a dancefloor adjacent to the concession stand. It was closed in 1970.

The actual address for this theater is 1170 Ulster Ave., Rte 9W, Kingston, NY 12401 per NY Drive Ins. Now Kings Mall.

Opened with “South of St. Louis”.
Closed in 1970. Demolished(date unknown?). The site is now Kings Mall, Marshalls, Panda Buffet and Fashion Bug.
