When the Prairie Cinema Centre was opened on May 16, 1975 with Jack Lemmon in “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” & Robert Mitchum in “The Yakuza”. It was a twin screen theatre with 350-seats in screen 1 & 250-seats in screen 2. It was open in 1998 and operated by Landmark Cinemas of Canada. On March 26, 1996 a third screen was added and seating was increased to 885. The theatre was located in the mall and ran first run attractions. It was closed in 2013.

The Prairie Cinema Centre opened its doors by Landmark Cinemas of Canada as a 600-seat twin on May 16, 1975 with “The Prisoner Of Second Avenue” in Screen 1 and “The Yakuza” in Screen 2. Screen 1 had a capacity of 350 blue-colored seats and Screen 2 had a capacity of 250 red-colored seats. It was later renamed the Prairie Mall Cinemas, and its capacity in its later years sits as 560 seats.
It was renamed the Lyric Theatre on March 26, 1996, and a third screen was later added.

At the time of its closing on November 28,2012 there were four auditoriums and it still used film projection rather than digital.
