Village 5 & 6

Located in the outer southern Melbourne suburb of Frankston. The Village 3 & 4 was opened by Village Theatres following the success of the earlier 1976 built Village Twin, across the road at 444 Nepean Highway (which was later re-named Village 1 & 2 and has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Village 3 & 4 closed before the Village 1 & 2.

In 2011, the building stands empty.

This cinema was always known as Village 3 & 4 and never renamed.

The original Village Twin, as described above, was never subdivided into a quad.

I went to this complex a few times, the original Village twin across the road was a lot better. You would have to buy tickets from the original twin and walk across the road to this one. It didn’t have its own box office. I think there was also a night club inside the ground level near these screens. The building was called the “Peninsula Centre” and still is the tallest building in Frankston. As far as I know its empty at the moment, there was a plan at one stage for Jamie Durie to convert the top levels into apartments.
