In later years, the twin cinema was advertised with the Tri-County 1-5 nearby the Cassinelli Square shopping centre, and was renamed Tri-County 6 & 7. Last operated by Loews, it was closed on December 31, 1993, with “Dracula” and “Toys”.

AKA:

TRI-COUNTY TWIN

Opened November 17, 1965

Closed December 31, 1992, Can anyone verify the dates?

The lobby was demolished and reconstructed into a Borders Bookstore. It is no longer a Borders.

Mid-States Theaters of Cincinnati, Roy B. White, General Manager, had over 10 theaters in Kentucky and Ohio.

Anyone have more info or photos?

I worked here from 1989 to 1991. When I left, Pat Cardwell was the Manager. 1992 is the correct close date.

Yes, that theatre later became Tri-County 6 & 7. It was located to the west across the street from Tri-County 1-5. I saw THEY CALL ME BRUCE there is the early ‘80’s.

I worked at Princeton Cinemas from about 1975 to about 1979, with Craig Burk, Sharon Roe, Guy, Kim Hicks, Scott Levy, Don Fessenmeyer, Jennifer Lovett, and the all time love of my life, always will be, Linda McKinney. I’m Mike Warden. Tore a lot of tickets, kissed Linda as often as possible, sloshed a river of Glo-Coat onto its wood parquet floor, and said “Down the hall and to your right” a million times! Manager was Jim Cummings. Cummings was difficult to work with, and seemed perpetually annoyed, especially for such a young guy. Still, he was always direct with us about what he wanted and he always gave me a fair deal! Assistant manager was Wayne Grady, what a great guy! Easy to work for, but no pushover, we all gave him 100%. Had a HUGE Dodge Charger with a teeny-tiny 225 in it! I’ll never forget that! We always got Disney and Richard Pryor movies! When I started, Pryor’s Bingo Long movie was showing. The crew we had was very tight and we did a lot of things together. It was a GREAT job for a high school guy…especially since we got free movie passes. I was CRUSHED when I saw it had been demolished…used to go there once in awhile and dream. Princeton Cinemas is still gone…but lives on in my soul, along with my little red-haired popcorn girl.

Correction: Bev Roe, not “Sharon” as seen in my previous post! Sorry Bev! Other late 70’s Princeton Cinemas names I wanted to mention are Rick Spangler, Debbie Terri, Lynn (?) Schube, and of course the ever-notorius Monica Lang. We dated briefly, she ditched me, I was heartbroken, but I can STILL remember her telling me, “Mike, there’s ANOTHER red-haired girl here that really likes you.” In my sorry state, I heard but did not comprehend…a few weeks later, the night of the Xmas Party…the other red-haired girl, Linda McKinney made me forget ALL ABOUT Miss Lang!
