Opened on October 5, 1978 by Moyer Theaters (Larry Moyer) of Portland, Oregon. Later operated by Act III Theaters and then Regal Cinemas. Theater was closed in 2005 by Regal Cinemas.

In 2007, Century Theaters (now operated by Cinemark) built the “Century Olympia 14” theater just 200 feet away from the old Capital Mall Cinemas location.

An “Old Navy” clothing store now occupies the space of the old theater in the mall.

I only attended this theater once in February 2003 to see ‘House of the Dead’, but I liked it. Cool, smaller mall theaters that were so common now withering in the shadow of the 28 screen megas. At least I have the good memory of one experience.
