Located in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center. The Rye Ridge Theatre opened on February 27, 1964 and was operated by the Associated Independent Theatres Inc. chain. It was twinned on April 17, 1981. Competition from the AMC/Loews Port Chester 14 nearby proved to be too much, the theatre limped along for a bit then closed. Since it was built on a slope, a dividing floor was added in the existing building creating two stories of space, a restaurant and bank entered from the top of the strip mall, and a restaurant space down below.

On the last weekend before Clearview Cinemas closed the theater , no one on staff was there to open the theater.I think it was their was to give the company the finger.
I grew up in Greenwich on the Port Chester line, and my next door neighbor’s mom managed the Rye Ridge Theatre in the late 60’s. This meant me and Jimmy F. (my next door neighbor) spent many a Saturday afternoon watching the Saturday afternoon fare of the time. I may have even gotten some free popcorn out of the deal.
