The Jasper Place Cinema opened December 1, 1953 with Doris Day in “Tea for Two”. It was a single-screen 528-seat theatre. It was twinned on August 23, 1974 and became the Jasper Cinema Centre when a second smaller screen seating 356 was added to the existing screen, whose seating was reduced to 488.

The Jasper Cinema Centre closed in 1995. The building was demolished in June 2016.

Actually, this theater ‘The Jasper Place Cinema’ opened December 1st, 1953. The first movie shown was Tea For Two with Doris Day. The second theater was added sometime in the late sixties. Unfortunately, it was demolished yesterday June 25, 2016… very sad, this was a cozy little theater!
