Located in the southwest London district of Balham. The Bedford Cinema was converted out of shop premises, with a small auditorium at the reat. It was operating from 1911 through to 1915, perhaps even to 1920. It was operated by E. Mason. By 1920, the building was being used as St. Phillip’s Church Mission. Later it began use for many years as the Continental Indoor Market.
In 2009, a William Hill bookmakers (betting shop) is operating at this address in the original building, which was the Bedford Cinema’s entrance and foyer. The auditorium at the rear has been demolished and housing has been built on the site.
