The Flamingo Drive-In opened on August 3, 1949 with Jeanne Crain in “Apartment for Peggy”. The capacity given for the drive-in was 500. The first Manager of the Flamingo Drive-In was Mr. M.F. George. The Flamingo Drive-In was closed on October 14, 1985 with Mel Gibson in “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” & Michael Sopkiw in “2019: After the Fall of New York”. Operators for the ozoner were Queen City Booking followed by Piedmont Theatres. Not listed in the 1950 or back Hills City Directories. First listing was in 1951.
