The Loit Theatre was opened on December 28, 1943. Seating was listed at 425. The theatre was closed by February 1952 when it became a clothing establishment. It was operated by Southern Amusements. The building now houses a pub and restaurant called the Office.

This opened on December 28th, 1943. Grand opening ad in the photo section. LOIT means Lafayette’s Only Independent Theatre.

The Exhibitor, Feb. 13, 1952: “Milton Guidry advised that his Loit, Lafayette, La., has been converted to a clothing establishment.”
