Wheel-In Drive-In

The Templeton’s Wheel-In Theatre was opened on June 19, 1950 with Glenn Ford in “The Return of October” & William Boyd in “Heart of the West”. It was operated by Orval Templeton until 1954. In 1955 it was operated by Pete Fortune and Indianapolis Co-Op Theatres of Indianapolis. It had closed by the late-1950’s.

The June 24, 1950 issue of BoxOffice wrote that the Templeton Wheel-In was the second of three drive-ins that all opened in the Martinsville IN area during May 1950.

It appears that the drive-in didn’t last long. Traces were kinda faded between 1958 and 1964, but the entirety of the theater was gone by 1984.
