The Mooresville Movies is a replacement of the former Jerry Lewis Cinema, which later became the Mooresville Cinema until closing in 1991 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Mooresville Movies opened its doors that same year as a triplex, and later expanded to eight screens in 1998.
Unfortunately on May 27, 2008, the Mooresville Movies closed for several years due to the theatre becoming a victim of media. After being abandoned for four years, Illinois resident Joe Avampato purchased the theatre and reopened it on June 14, 2012.

What’s “victim of media” mean?
The popularities over DVDs and Netflix. That was all according to the then-manager.
This is called Torchlight Cinema 8, not Showtime Cinema. This theatre is owned by The Rynard family who currently operates Princess Theatre Andrew recently closed Wolf Theatres in Greensburg.
