It was taken over by Star Movie Grill and reopened on April 18, 2024 with a reduced seating capacity of 889-seats and renovations continued for a while as the theatre remains open.

The only movie I’ve seen at this theater was Premium Rush (2012).
This Studio Movie Grill has just been taken over by Star Cinema Grill. The theater closed on March 24, 2024 and will reopen as Star Cinema Grill on or before April 18, 2024 as announced by the Houston Chronicle on March 30, 2024. It will be completely renovated and should be completed by November.
