With 10 screens and 944 seats, the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline opened on July 22, 2013, as their largest location to date. Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League was present for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The Austin Examiner noted that the theater has a stand-alone bar called ‘Glass Half Full’ in addition to regular dining options. Weiss Architecture and Hodges Architects share the credit for the design.

The nearby Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek, less than two miles away and considered outdated, closed on July 21.
