I have an advertisement for this theatre and have been surprised that I cannot find anything on it’s history. I used to work in Detroit at a studio in the Fisher Theatre Building across the street from it and would attend regularly the showings of new features. The Studio New Center was opened June 22, 1966. Renamed New Center Cinema in 1974, it was closed in 1978.
The movies were always arthouse films.

June 22nd, 1966 grand opening ad in photo section. It was renamed New Center Cinema in 1974 and closed in 1978. It never shown adult movies.
