Picture Pavilion

In the town of Largs, on the west coast of Scotland, the Electric Picture Pavilion was opened by Bridgend Picture House Company. The opening date is not known. It is not listed in the 1914 Kinematograph Year Book(KYB), but it is in the 1931 edition, by which time the proprietor was Largs Electric Picture Pavilion Ltd. and the cinema was listed as the Picture Pavilion.

The cinema was sold to George Palmer in 1948 and it joined his Associated G.P. Cinemas chain. He presumably closed it (it is shown as closed in the 1953 KYB).

The building became Star Ballroom. By the time I visited, in June 2003, it had been converted to offices.
