The Galaxy 8, with a space-age theme, was opened by Allen Theatres on March 10, 2006.
The Roswell Daily Record reported that Allen Theatres closed the Park Twin, the Del Norte Twin, and Cinema 4 at the mall when the Galaxy 8 opened.
The theater now offers all digital projection. By 2017 it had been taken over by Epic Cinemas. It was renamed Apex Cinemas in March 2019. It soon taken back by Allen Theatres and renamed Galaxy 8 again.
