The Midway Theatre was opened in 1912. On January 7, 1972 it became the Eve Theatre screening adult movies. It was featured as an adult theatre in a scene in the 1977 David Cronenberg movie “Rabid”. It was still open as an adult cinema when it was destroyed in a possible arson attack during a screening on the evening of 19th July 1993.
